ov10a aircraft

Ov10a Aircraft - The OV-10A is a short takeoff and landing twin turboprop aircraft designed by the United States Marine Corps and developed under the Tri-Service program of the United States Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps. The first serial OV-10A was ordered in 1966, and the first flew in August 1967.

Bronco missions include surveillance, forward air control (FAC), helicopter escort, armed reconnaissance, gunnery reconnaissance, assistance and limited ground attack. However, the USAF acquired the Bronco primarily as a FAC aircraft. Adding to its versatility is an aft hull compartment with a capacity of 3,200 pounds of cargo, five combat-equipped hulls or two stretcher patients and a paramedic.

The US Air Force's first operational OV-10As arrived in Vietnam in July 1968. A total of 157 OV-10As were delivered to the USAF before production ended in April 1969.

The aircraft on display were delivered to the US Air Force in October 1968 and shipped directly to the 504

Tactical Air Support Team at Ben Ho Air Force Base, Vietnam. It remained in Southeast Asia until assigned to the 507 in June 1974

December 1988 at Shaw Air Force Base. He later became a ground instructor at Shepard Air Force Base, Texas, and was transferred to the museum in 2008. The North American Rockwell OV-10 Mustang is an American twin-turboprop light attack and surveillance aircraft. It was developed in the 1960s as a special aircraft for counterinsurgency (COIN) operations, and one of its main missions was as a forward air control (FAC) aircraft. It can carry up to 3,200 lb (1,450 kg) of external munitions and internal cargo, such as parachutes or stretchers, and can roam three or more.

The aircraft was originally introduced in the early 1960s through W.H. Beckett and Colonel K.P. Rice, US Marines, who met at China Lake Air Force Base in California, where they were also fortunate enough to live. The original concept was a robust, simple aircraft for close air support combined with ground combat. At the time, the US military was still experimenting with gunships and the US Air Force was not interested in close air support.

This Ov 10a Has Been The Last Usmc Combat Loss Of A Bronco

The concept aircraft is operated from a fast-forward airbase that uses roads as runways. Velocities range from very slow to moderately subsonic, with much longer residence times than pure jets. An efficient turboprop engine will provide better performance than a piston engine. The weapon will be mounted on the tail for effective long range targeting. Inventors favored marksmanship weapons, such as the self-loading recoilless rifle, which fired aimed explosive shells with less recoil than a cannon and weighed less per shot than a rocket. The hull is designed to avoid blowing out the back.

Beckett and Rice developed a basic platform that met these requirements and attempted to build a fiberglass prototype in their garage. The effort produced a cult following and an informal pamphlet describing the concept. W.H. Beckett, retired from the Marine Corps, went to work for North American Airlines selling airplanes.

The military definition of STOL (obstacles 500 feet to 50 feet) permits takeoff and landing in most areas where limited warfare is likely. In addition, the aircraft is designed to use roads, so it can fly in jungle areas where clearance is low and distances are long. Wingspan was therefore limited to 20 feet, and heavy-duty trailing arm landing gear with 6.5 feet of tread was provided for road operation. Float work is feasible...[2] ...it is very feasible to design the various components so that they can be easily disassembled and stored along with the equipment needed for reassembly in the field in a suitable 6×6 in a truck bed box. Therefore, it can be transported by amphibious transport, but also lifted by a 6x6 truck-helicopter or pulled to shore. [3] Lightly armed reconnaissance aircraft[edit]

Ov10a Aircraft

The US Navy, Air Force and Army approved a "tri-service" specification for a Lightly Armed Reconnaissance Aircraft (LARA), which was released in late 1963. The LARA request was based on a perceived need for a new "Jungle Combat" multi-role light attack and observation aircraft. Existing military aircraft used for observation missions, such as the Cessna O-1 Bird Dog and the Cessna O-2 Skymaster, are considered outdated, too slow and too small a payload for such flexible tasks.

Aircraft Photo Of N429df

The specification requires that the two-engine, two-person aircraft can carry at least 2,400 pounds (1,100 kilograms) of cargo, six parachutes or stretchers, and withstand +8 and -3 g thrusts (basic aerobatic capability). It must also be able to operate on an aircraft carrier, fly at a speed of at least 350 mph (560 km/h), take off at an altitude of 800 feet (240 m) and convert to an amphibious vehicle. It must carry various armaments, including four 7.62 mm (0.300 in) machine guns and 2,000 rounds of ammunition, as well as external armament, including a gun bay with a 20 mm (0.79 in) M197 electric gun and an AIM-9 Sidewinder air - missile air.

Submitted Elev proposals including: Grumman Model 134R two-seat version of the US Army's fielded OV-1 Mohawk (the US Marine Corps dropped the Mohawk program in 1958), Goodyear GA 39, Beechcraft PD-183, Douglas D-855, Convair Model Charger, Helio 1320, Lockheed CL-760, Martin Design and North American Airlines/Rockwell NA-300.

In August 1964, the NA-300 was selected. The contract for the SEV prototype was awarded in October 1964. Convair protested the decision and built a small wing prototype Model 48 Charger, which first flew on November 29, 1964. It is also a wide spread biplane similar to the OV-10. Although the Charger was able to outperform the OV-10 in some respects, it crashed on October 19, 1965 after 196 test flights. Conwell then withdrew from the race.

The Bronco began flying halfway through the Charger test program on July 16, 1965, and became one of the premier counter-insurgency (COIN) aircraft for the next 30 years. It did not implement Rice's L2 VMA concept because the DoD insisted on a 40-foot (12-meter) wingspan, making it dependent on air bases. Rice concluded:

North American Ov 10a Bronco Aircraft Report 9/9/2022g

The original concept of a small, simple craft that could operate near supported troops was almost completely eliminated by the "system". Road-running capability (20-foot span and 6.5 treads) was neglected, and performance was compromised by a short 30-foot span, an extra 1,000 lbs for rugged off-road landing gear, and another 1,000 lbs of electronics. The "light, simple" aircraft also have full instrumentation, ejection seats and substantial external storage stations. The concept of using ground ammunition and bomb bays was neglected, although it had provisions for four M60 [medium] machine guns. Despite this growth (almost double the size and weight of the houses we build), the YOV-10 still has a lot of potential. It will not achieve the benefits of integration with ground maneuvering schemes, but it has the ability to remain valuable and unique at low d speed performance. [4]

The Mustang performs surveillance, forward air control, helicopter escort, armed reconnaissance, practical light airlift and limited ground attack. The Bronco also performed aerial radiological reconnaissance, tactical aerial surveillance, artillery and naval fire reconnaissance, air control over tactical air support operations, and frontline low-altitude aerial photography. A prototype designed in Vietnam for smoking cigarettes was so successful that evaluators used it for several months, it was barely released for sale, but was not bought due to lack of purpose.

The OV-10 has a central nacelle that houses the pilot and cargo, and twin arms that contain twin turboprops. The visual characteristic of the aircraft is a combination of twin arms and a horizontal stabilizer connecting them.

Ov10a Aircraft

The aircraft is designed to support efficient operations from forward bases. The OV-10 can perform short takeoffs and landings, including on aircraft carriers and large-deck amphibious assault ships

Low Poly Ov10a Bronco 3d Model $59

No need for catapults or arresting wires. In addition, the OV-10 is designed to take off and land in unimproved locations. It can be repaired with common tools. No ground equipment is required to start the engine. If necessary, the engine can run on high-octane automatic fuel with only a small loss of power.

The cockpit provided excellent visibility for the tandem pilot and co-pilot, provided by a "greenhouse" envelope wider than the fuselage. North American Rockwell custom ejection seats are standard,

With the second seat removed, it can carry 3,200 pounds (1,500 kilograms) of cargo, five paratroopers or two small aircraft and an escort. Curb weight is 6,969 pounds (3,161 kilograms). Normal operating fuel weight for a crew of two is 9,908 lb (4,494 kg). Maximum take-off weight is 14,446 lb (6,553 kg).

The lower part of the fuselage is equipped with side wings, or "short wings", which improve flight performance by reducing air resistance under the fuselage. Horizontal windows were placed on the prototype. Testing led to these being redesigned for production aircraft; downward angles for ties in production

Captain Of U.s.s. Theodore Roosevelt Pleads For Help As Coronavirus Spreads Onboard

Carriage on Board (COD) is the use of aircraft to transport personnel, mail, supplies, and high-priority cargo such as spare parts from land bases to an aircraft carrier at sea.

Various aircraft, including helicopters, were used by the Navy in the COD role. The Grumman C-2 Greyhound has been the United States Navy's primary COD aircraft since the mid-1960s.

Early in the United States Navy (USN), recognition of the need for a powerful carrier landing load resulted in the airframe of the Grumman TBM-3 Avger torpedo bombers being changed to unarmed seven-passenger COD aircraft designated the TBM-3R. Replacement of the TBM-3R began in the late 1950s. Grumman built a heavy variant of the twin-piston Grumman S-2 Tracker anti-submarine warfare bomber as the C-1A Trader. (Contrary to popular belief,

) In the late 1960s, Grumman began production of a twin-turboprop cargo variant of the E-2 Hawkeye Airborne Early Warning aircraft known as the C-2A Greyhound. Five Lockheed US-3A Viking aircraft were also used from the early 1980s to the mid-1990s. The C-2 has been the US Navy's primary COD vehicle since then.

Several US Navy "Fleet Logistics Support Squadrons" have provided COD services on vehicles since World War II, including VR-5, VR-21, VR-22, VR-23, VR-24, VRC-30, VRC -40 and VRC-50.

On 6 October 2012, an MV-22 tiltrotor helicopter from VMM-165 squadron landed and refueled USS Nimitz (CVN-68). This operation is part of an evaluation of the MV-22's feasibility as a replacement for the current C-2 cargo aircraft.

In April 2014, Lockheed Martin announced that it would supply refurbished and refurbished Lockheed S-3 Vikings as replacements for the ten-year-old Northrop Grumman C-2A Greyhound transport aircraft. Called the C-3, the aircraft will have a widened fuselage but retain the original wings, tail assembly, engines and crew compartment. With a range of 2,400 nautical miles (4,400 km; 2,800 mi) carrying a 10,000-pound (4,500 kg) payload, Lockheed said the C-3 would have twice the range of a new C-2 and triple the range of a new C-2. V-22 Osprey. Unlike other competitors, the C-3 can meet the requirements to replace the Pratt & Whitney jet engines for the F-35. The demand for 35 aircraft will be met from the 91 S-3s currently in storage.

In February 2004, the Boeing Slam-ER standoff land attack missile completed integration on the US Navy P-3C Orion.

The aircraft is equipped with four Allison T56-A-14 turboprop engines with a capacity of 3,661 kW. Each engine drives a four-blade constant speed propeller, type 54H60-77 from Hamilton Standard. There are five fuel tanks, one in the fuselage and four integrated wing tanks with a total fuel capacity of 34,800 L. MELBOURNE, Australia — Malaysia has reportedly asked Japan for some of its retired Lockheed Martin P-3 Orion anti-submarine aircraft, as the Southeast Asian nation seeks a much needed upgrade of its maritime domain awareness.

P 3c Orion Maritime Patrol Aircraft

According to Japan's Nikkei Asian Review, Malaysia approached Japan for the donation of its retired P-3Cs. Nikkei noted, however, that Japan's parliament would need to amend the Defense Ministry constitution to allow other nations to provide equipment free of charge, as some form of compensation is currently required by law for the transfer of Japanese national assets. .

It added that if the deal goes through, Japan will remove sensitive equipment such as radar from the aircraft before the transfer. The Nikkei report did not say how many P-3s are being sought by Malaysia, and Japan's Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency did not provide specific numbers or a timeframe for the transfer when asked by Defense News. However, Malaysian sources had previously said they were looking for four aircraft.

Malaysia is one of six countries that claim the disputed Spratly Islands in the South China Sea, and a recent report by the Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative found that Chinese coast guard vessels constantly patrol around the claimed Luconia Shoals. Both China and Malaysia.

Orion P-3 Aircraft

The shoal is located 62 miles off the Malaysian state of Sarawak in Borneo and is within Malaysia's exclusive economic zone. This is the second time Chinese coast guard vessels have been noted to maintain an increased presence in the area with little interference from Malaysia's own ships.

Fair Winds And Following Seas To The Navy's P 3c

The country also straddles the strategic chokepoint of the Malacca Straits, through which a significant port for global maritime trade passes. Its unique geography also poses a challenge, with its territory divided by the South China Sea into two separate landmasses 365 miles apart at its narrowest point.

Given these factors, maritime domain awareness is a major concern for the country. The Royal Malaysian Air Force operates a single, modified Lockheed Martin C-130H Hercules aircraft as well as three Beechcraft B200T King Air aircraft for maritime patrol and surveillance duties, which are required given the number of maritime issues such as cross-border crime. and piracy that Malaysia must address.

The Japanese P-3 aircraft was manufactured locally by Kawasaki Heavy Industries under license between 1982 and 2000. Defense News understands that Japan has removed 28 aircraft as of 2016, with aircraft that have logged more than 15,000 flight hours being phased out. If Malaysia ends up taking ex-Japanese P-3s, it could end up with holiday aircraft with most of the equipment removed; However, options are available for aircraft life extension and avionics upgrade packages.

Lockheed Martin is offering a mid-term upgrade for the Orion that it says removes all current aircraft restrictions and provides 15,000 additional flight hours through the installation of new, improved design wings and horizontal stabilizers with improved corrosion-resistant materials. Some P-3 customers, including Taiwan and Norway, have already re-winged their fleets or are in the process of doing so, while the US Navy has done so for part of its fleet.

Some nations using the P-3 have also made improvements to the aircraft's avionics, with most choosing to replace most of the aircraft's systems, including the radar. The Elta EL/M-2022 multi-mode radar is a popular choice equipping upgraded aircraft in Australia, New Zealand.

Best Glock Barrel - While Glocks are already known for their accuracy out of the box, wouldn't it be nice to dial in a little more accuracy on your Glock?

You can find many aftermarket parts for various Glock models that you can use to build your own non-Glock Glock. We think it's so cool, we'll spare you the full list of Glock parts for later and focus on one piece today - your barrel.

Best Glock Barrel

Best Glock Barrel

A good aftermarket barrel can provide improved accuracy, better aesthetics and support aftermarket accessories like suppressors and muzzle brakes. You can improve the performance of your Glock and personalize its look easily, simply by changing your barrel to an upgraded version.

Best Sub Compact 9mm Pistols

We'll walk you through the basics of upgrading your Glock barrel, from what you need to know to choose the right one for your gun to our top tips. By knowing what you are looking for you will be able to buy your new bin with confidence.

Your first question might be, "So, why should I upgrade my Glock's barrel if it's already perfect?"

We hear you, but here's why you might want to consider moving forward with your discussion.

Stock Glock barrels use a polygon firing system that is actually more accurate than a regular firing system. This allows some lower-cost production processes to be used, and allows those savings to be passed on to customers.

That said – they do have one drawback. They cannot use lead bullets. Glock does not recommend using lead bullets in their factory barrels because lead can build up in the gun to unsafe levels. That means you're spending more on ammo that will play well with your Glock.

Of course, there are other advantages to an aftermarket barrel besides just using bullets. For one, many of them are stitched, which means they are perfect for suppressors, supports, and muzzle brakes. We love our upgrades to our Glocks, so this is a big draw for us.

Alternatively, match-grade aftermarket or "auxiliary" barrels may be more accurate than factory barrels. The gloves are more than adequate for defensive use or general shooting. For true target accuracy and getting the most out of the platform, however, something a little better than stock is needed.

Best Glock Barrel

Aftermarket Glock barrels are also great for enhancing the look of your gun. Let's face it, Glocks are sturdy and reliable, but they can leave something to be desired in the looks department.

If you want something that looks good, a splash of color or a slightly different finish on the pipe is a great way to add a little something.

When it comes to choosing a barrel for your Glock, there are many things to consider. After all, the point of making your own gun is that you think about your choices as, well, personal. Here are some things you might have.

First, and most important, there is capacity. Gloves are available in many calibers and it is important to find a barrel that matches your gun.

Now, while that is obvious, what is not so obvious is that some Glocks can easily be converted to different calibers with a barrel and mag change. This is often done so that the shooter can take advantage of reloads and cheaper ammo.

Best 10mm Glocks: Subcompact To Full Sized

If you are looking to change your caliber, make sure you buy the correct barrel for your current caliber.

In general, you want to get a barrel that matches the factory length of your gun, but there are extended barrels and threads that are slightly longer for various reasons.

Threaded barrels are long enough to accommodate threads and still allow your muzzle device to extend beyond the slide. Obviously, having your suppressor in the way of your slide doesn't do you any good, so a slightly extended barrel takes care of that issue.

Best Glock Barrel

Some barrels, like the sixteen-inch offerings, may seem silly, but are actually intended to prevent your Glock from converting to an SBR when using certain conversion kits.

Build Your Custom Glock

That's right - there are conversion kits to turn your Glock into a pistol or carbine. Generally, to avoid a tax stamp, you will have a convertible or stock in a barrel that is longer than sixteen inches. Remember to check your local, state, and federal laws to make sure your upgraded Glock is on the right side of the line.

If you plan to run a suppressor, compensator, or mouthpiece, you need to get yourself a barrel. If you use a mouthpiece occasionally, you'll also need a thread protector to keep your threads from fraying.

Now you may not be interested in any of that, so you might as well go with an unthreaded barrel. These models are smaller and do not require the same level of protection to avoid damaging threads.

However, if you think there's even a remote chance you'll get a suppressor or fuse one day, spend the extra $15 or so and get a threaded model to begin with and save the $100+ you'd otherwise have to spend. A new barrel later.

Bloodline Glock 19 Barrel

The Glock barrel has a factory finish called Tennifer, and is widely known for its extreme durability and corrosion resistance. There are a variety of aftermarket finishes available, from titanium nitrides to stainless steel.

You can Cerakote your barrel in literally every color of the rainbow, so you have customization options available. Many of these options are available directly from manufacturers, so you don't need to pay for the actual finish.

Now that you're an expert on what to look for in an aftermarket Glock barrel, we're here to tell you which ones we recommend and why. These options are our personal preferences, and we think one of them will be the best barrel choice for you and your Glock.

Best Glock Barrel

Lone Wolf Distributors is probably the best known parts manufacturer after Glock. They may be the only company that makes every part you need to make a Glock without using any genuine Glock parts.

Question: Is The 4th Generation Glock 19 The Best 9mm On The Market?

However, their Glock barrel offerings go beyond a simple factory replacement barrel. Most of their barrels are stitched, giving you compression options and such. They also have a regular revolver that works well with lead bullets and doesn't cause problems there.

If you single barrel the Lone Wolf's standard spiral rifle barrel you will lose a little accuracy, but you won't notice unless you are a very talented shooter.

If this is a problem, you can always find sport grade barrels that will be more accurate than factory replacements.

Finally, you can find conversion kits on many Glock models that allow .40 S&W Glocks to fire 9mm, or 10mm to fire .45 ACP, or complete conversion slides that allow you to use .22 LR. This gives you more flexibility, and in many cases allows you to train with a smaller (and cheaper) cycle than you would normally carry.

Sancer Barrel For Glock 17 & 19

The Lone Wolf is really a stand-alone Glock. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket and want to order multiple parts from just one manufacturer, Lone Wolf is what you need.

Every part of Lone Wolf is top quality. We've never had a bad experience (or heard of anyone), and their customer service is top notch. If you run into trouble, you'll be in good hands.

If you've ever looked into repairing your Glock, you've probably seen the name ZEV Technologies. They are probably the second most popular component manufacturer after Lone Wolf - and it's easy to see why.

Best Glock Barrel

They make very good (and good looking) slides and their triggers are among the most popular in the CCW world. Their components are incredibly popular among competitors who take their pistol sport seriously.

Glock 19 Gen 3 9/11 9mm

Their barrels really shine, though – often literally. ZEV makes barrels in a variety of colors and finishes, including gold-colored nitride and rainbow chroma. You can actually make a statement on the list! If you are looking to upgrade your pistol, ZEV barrels are a good place to start.

And bins don't just look good - they perform well, too. They form the front barrels, which are completely reinforced at the front of the machine. This gives you a stronger gun that will last longer.

The barrels are also smoothed over the silk duty cycle, and the finish (even the best gloss) is stronger and more corrosion resistant than the default finish on factory Glock barrels. Best of all, they are true entry barrels, so no manual installation or custom rifling is required.

KKM Precision makes barrels for competitive shooters and others interested in target practice. Sure, they look good and work well mechanically, but they're designed from the ground up to give you the most accurate performance.

Best Glock Alternatives - There is no denying that the Glock 19 is one of the most popular everyday concealed carry pistols. When comparing firearms, the Glock 19 is the gold standard for power, weight, features and ease of use. For decades, Glock has been known for its ultra-reliable, simple and easy-to-use controls. The Glock line of pistols are some of the most reliable and rugged pistols on the market. However, not everyone wants a Glock for one reason or another, rather a striker action pistol with similar capabilities and overall performance. Let's take an in-depth look at the top 4 Glock options on the market.

One of the closest alternatives to the Glock 19 would have to be the CZ P10c. CZ's P10c is a compact striker pistol with a 15 round capacity. They offer regular and optics ready models like the Glock MOS system and have several options on red dot optics. One of my favorite styling features of the P10c is the ergonomic feel of the sliders and frame.

Dimensions are nearly identical between the Glock 19 and P10c, but the different palm ridges and chamfered cutouts on the sleeve make it look smaller than the bulky Glock ergonomics. A similar size to the Glock 19 means a certain level of holster adjustment. This does not mean that every Glock 19 holster will fit the CZ P10c, but most will. The trigger is a crisp and clean 5 pound trigger with a very positive return that makes it very easy to shoot. If you haven't checked out the CZ series of striker fire pistols, I highly recommend you do, as they are great value for money.

Glock 43: Everything You Need To Know– Bravo Concealment

In terms of overall size, SIG's XCompact is an excellent alternative to the Glock 19. SIG took their modular fire control and created a 15-round compact pistol that is much easier to handle and smaller overall than the Glock 19. The XCompact is probably my favorite summer carry besides its little brother, the P365. There are several compact magazine options to make reloading easier.

Combining the XCompact with Fire Control gives you a small, compact carry for the summer, but if you want to convert it into a low-range killer, it only takes a few minutes and a new barrel and frame. So you can have multiple configurations with one sequential part, making the P320 series a real case of versatility. If you haven't tried XCompact yet, I recommend checking out your local store.

As James did with his roster, I'm going to put a wild card on this list, and most of you will probably cry that it's not fair. The SIG Sauer P365 grabbed everyone's attention when it debuted at the SHOT Show a few years ago. There are many different configurations of pistols on the market and this really sets the standard for the whole thing about concealed carry pistols.

The ability to carry standard 10-round, 12-round or extended 15-round magazines certainly makes the P365 a compact but capable package for a variety of concealed carriers. My personal favorite configuration is to mount the XL slide on the regular P365 frame, which allows the shooter a longer target radius while maintaining the low profile lines of the smaller grip modules. In my book, there's nothing like this little guy for a lightweight summer carry option, so it's one of my favorites.

Glock Or Sig Sauer: What Gun Do Police Like Best?

If the Glock 19 was the blue-collar worker of the family, the HK VP9 was its richer and slightly more sophisticated cousin. The VP9 is very similar to the Glock 19, but seems to fit the hand better than the Glock. Of all the striker pistols on the market, I think the VP9 is one of the best in terms of comfort and ergonomics. HK did a great job making the VP9 blend in your hand and feel very natural.

The sliding serrations work well, and the gun feels slimmer thanks to the chamfer cut at the top. It's a great option for concealed carry and the newly updated 17th magazine gives the VP9 a slight capacity advantage over the Glock 19. If you are looking for a very comfortable, soft shooting gun, I would give the VP9 a look as it is a great alternative to the Glock life.

The Glock 19 is a great option, but many people forget that it is not the only option on the market. CZ, SIG, and HK offer some great products and they all bring their own unique qualities. The CZ is a great choice for overall ergonomics and compatibility with Glock holsters. SIGs are one of my favorites because of their modularity and the ability to customize these guns to your personal preferences. I am a big fan of the HK VP9 because of the comfortable grip and shooting performance and the power upgrade of the new model.

Buyer's Guide: Stocks For Your Glock Pistol

I am an avid shooter and love learning at my job or in the shooting community. I'm just a regular guy who really enjoys talking to other people about guns and other hobbies. These polymer, firing pin-fired pistols may not be Glocks, but they do explode when you pull the trigger.

The Glock 17 was introduced in 1982. Although many questioned the pistol's polymer frame and hammerless fire control system, it became one of the most recognized and popular defensive pistols in the world. It also makes many copies. There's no denying it, the Glock 19 is one of the most popular handguns among everyday carry folks. When it comes to comparing different handguns, the Glock 19 is the gold standard for power, weight, functionality and ease of use. Over the past decade, Glock has developed a reputation for its extremely reliable and effortless and easy-to-use controls. The Glock series of pistols is one of the most reliable handguns on the market. However, not everyone wants a bell for whatever reason, but wants a striker-fired pistol with similar capacity and overall capabilities. Let's dive into the top 4 Glock alternatives on the market.

One of the closest alternatives to the Glock 19 is the CZ P10c. The P10c from CZ is a striker-fired pistol with a 15-round capacity. They offer conventional and optic-ready models like the Glock MOS system and have several options in terms of red dot optics. The dimensions between the Glock 19 and the P10c are nearly identical, but the different palm bulge and chamfer cut on the slide make it look smaller than the Glock ergonomics. Having similar dimensions to the Glock 19 also means a level of holster compatibility. This is not to say that every Glock 19 holster will fit a CZ P10c, but most will. The trigger is a clean 5 point trigger with a very positive reset that makes it incredibly easy to shoot. If you haven't checked out the CZ line of pistols, I highly recommend checking them out as they are great value for money.

Cz P10: A Better 9mm Gun Than A Glock 17 Or 19?

The XCompact from SIG is a great alternative to the Glock 19 based on its overall size. SIG has taken its modular fire control unit and built a 15-round compact pistol that is easier to control and longer than the Glock 19. The XCompact is probably my favorite summer carry other than its little brother the P365. There are several different compact magwell options to make reloading easier.

Combined with the XCompact and Fire Control Unit, it allows a small compact carry during the summer, but if you want to make it a compensated clipper, it only takes a few minutes with a new barrel and frame. So with one serialized part you can have multiple configurations, giving the P320 series a real case for versatility. If you haven't checked out XCompact yet, I encourage you to check out your local store.

As Jacob does with his lists, I'm going to throw in a wild card in the list that many of you will probably cry is not fair. When the SIG Sauer P365 first hit the scene a few years ago, it turned heads at the SHOT Show. The gun has several configurations
